Have you noticed that a new phone comes out every day? Everybody trying to out do the other. So what do you do? Just about anything you want to!
With the rapid pace of technology makes it hard to choose which phone would be best for you. In previous tips I have given my opinion of GSM technology. Do you or don't you need it. With the combined network of AT&T and Cingular has created the largest GSM network in the United States. GSM technolgy with the GPTS to locate has put together a nice network for the whole family. Don't forget that a GSM phone will not work on TDMA systems so if you go GSM then there will be areas you won't have service.
Before making a decision may I suggest you go to www.phonescoop.com and compare the phones you are looking to get. There is one phone on the market that is GSM and roams to CDMA. The Nokia 6651. Larger than other phones but could help you. You have the best of technical ability because CDMA was the first to offer data, pictures and color to the market. Now everyone has one.
There are "world phones" where you can use your GSM phone in another country if your phone has that frequency. On Phone Scoop you can get information on what frequencies any phone uses. Maybe you don't need a world phone because you never leave the USA.
