I have tested this bluetooth with my 2.0 compliant cell phone.  It pairs easly.  When turned on the phone recognized it and it has great clarity. Remember, the sound on any bluetooth will vary depending on the volume on your phone and the volume set on the bluetooth.  I find I get better quality with low volume on the phone and increase the volume on the bluetooth.  If you have both too loud, you will get feedback and echo effect.
